April 2019 Monthly Update

Monte Carlo & Wheelchairs

Fundraising for a Good Cause
Our Monte Carlo Night fundraiser on April 6th, was a huge success. We hosted 84 people at the New York Athletic Club and announced our new JDJ Pediatric Electric Wheelchair Granting Program.

First Wheelchair Recipient
Scarlett was one of our first wheelchair recipients. She is battling SMA disease and we provided her with the above chair. We also provided a boy battling SMA disease with his first chair and are in the
process of helping a young athlete get his first adaptive wheelchair so that he can play soccer.

Winners, Winners, Winners!
There were winners all around! Everyone that attended the MC Night directly helped to support our new wheelchair program. In total, this event raised close to $15,000. Thanks to all who attended and donated. We appreciate your continued generosity.

Education & LHS

MakeSPP 2.0
We are happy to have been a sponsor of MakeSPP 2.0. Over 120 middle and high school students attended a hackathon at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey
City. These students participated in workshops focused on various software and computer science topics. There was also a competition where creative
inventions were shared and awards given out.

LHS Meets RMHNY
Shout out to our Loving Heart Society Members that volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in NYC. This was our second volunteer event of 2019! 12 LHS members served a meal and delivered care packages to resident families. It was a heartwarming event that brought smiles to all in
attendance.
