JDJ Helps Lung Cancer Patients
We are donating $100,000 towards a new clinical trial to improve the quality of life for lung cancer patients outside of the hospital. This trial will be led by MSK’s Chief of Integrative Medicine Service, Dr. Jun J Mao.
Dr. Mao and his team are working on a clinical trial protocol to evaluate how to best help lung cancer patients integrate MSK’s virtual integrative medicine at home program (fitness, meditation, yoga) while undergoing chemotherapy or immunotherapy.
This pilot program will be the first to evaluate such therapies for patient symptom control, quality of life, as well as improving patients’ tolerance of conventional cancer treatment. The pilot information will help MSK obtain future research funds to improve quality of life for patients with lung cancer.
